Hornpipe musical instrument

This is the shell or horn of a buffalo used in making a Phenpha. The Phenpha is a hornpipe musical instrument, usually made with the horn of a buffalo. To make this wind instrument, cylindrical bamboo tube containing four holes are attached on the smaller end for the blowing and placing in the mouth of the player. Occasionally metal ring is tied on the broader end for decorative purpose and durability of the instrument.

Drum

This is the cylindrical casket body of a Kham, a percussion instrument made of wood and parchment. It is a long drum, covered with leather membrane on both sides and secured with rope. The Bodos refer to the Dhol or Madal as Kham. It is used in different dances and music, mainly ceremonial and religious purposes. This is played by mostly men hung at the neck and beaten with both hands.
